Monk Facts
The Coniston is an eight-eyelet country boot with a straight toecap. Named for a small village in England’s lake district, it has a rugged simplicity that makes it extremely versatile. Its Dainite rubber sole and country grain calf leather make it hard wearing, but its plain, straight toecap means that it can be worn with a suit to great effect. The Coniston is crafted on Crockett & Jones’ 325 last, which features the round toe and soft curves typical of an English country shoe. The open lacing of the boot also makes the Coniston a handy option for those with a high instep. Founded in Northampton in 1879, Crockett & Jones a fifth generation family-owned company. Representing the finest in materials and workmanship, Crockett & Jones’ Goodyear welted shoes are 100% made in England.
